Three years or 36,000 miles is the original warranty that most GMC vehicles offer. The basic GMC warranty is a bumper to bumper warranty that covers your vehicle against defects in materials and workmanship. Because most GMC models do not have any kind of extended powertrain warranty, you should keep in mind that you must not exceed an average of 12,000 miles a year in order to be covered for the full three years. If you drive 15,000 miles or more each year, you might only have your warranty for about 2 years. This is why many people opt to add an extended warranty. WarrantyDeals offers GMC owners a wide range of extended warranty plans from which to choose, at pricing you can afford.

Vehicle maintenance should occur according the maintenance scheduled as outlined in your owner's manual. Failure to provide regularly scheduled repairs and tune-ups to your vehicle could result in the default of your GMC warranty. It is a good idea to keep a record of all maintenance to avoid problems. Generally, there are two types of maintenance schedules: severe and normal. While most people fall under the normal maintenance schedule, if you do a lot of stop and go driving, usually drive for short trips, operate your vehicle on poor road conditions, live in a hot climate, do mountain driving, or use you vehicle for towing; you should follow the severe schedule.
Under your GMC warranty, repairs must be made at a GMC dealership, except in emergency situations. Most people think that if their new car breaks, it will be fixed with new components. However, repairs may be made by components that are new, repaired, remanufactured or reconditioned.
Before installing any aftermarket parts into your vehicle, it is important to review all documentation provided with your GMC warranty. Typically, any component failures caused as a result of an aftermarket part will no longer be covered under warranty. Even the most basic of accessories, such as an aftermarket alarm, radio or remote starter, could void your coverage on normally covered components.
You may want to consider a factory backed plan. Factory backed warranties are usually more expensive then those from independant providers and your choices of repair facility may be limited. A good source for a GM
extended warranty is www.gm-auto-mall.com. Compare our pricing with GM backed plans.
