WarrantyDeals.com - Where auto warranty providers compete to give you the best deal KIA EXTENDED WARRANTY

The original Kia warranty is a limited warranty that covers your vehicle for five years or 60,000 miles (whichever comes first) against defects in materials and workmanship which occur under normal use. However, there are exclusions to this warranty that are covered for less than five years. The basic Kia warranty also includes an extended powertrain warranty, for ten years or 100,000 miles, limited to the engine, transaxle and transmission. The extended portion of the warranty is only valid for the original owner and cannot be transferred to subsequent owners.

Consider this...
The full original Kia warranty is based on driving 12,000 miles per year. This means that if you drive 20,000 miles per year, you will only have three years of full coverage since the powertrain warranty only covers a small portion of the many expensive repairs that you may face down the road. Hedge your bets against paying for the high cost of future repairs by purchasing an extended warranty now.

Kia Maintenance
You are required to perform regular maintenance on your Kia to keep the warranty in force. It is your responsibility to check such items as fluid levels and tire pressure regularly. Warranty claims can be denied, if a lack of maintenance is thought to be the cause of the failure. You should retain proof, such as your receipts, that the scheduled inspections and maintenance have been performed. Kia has two maintenance schedules, one for normal driving conditions and one for "severe" driving conditions. More frequent maintenance is required under the "severe" schedule. You should check your owner's manual to see which schedule is right for you.

Kia Warranty Repairs
While under the original warranty, you must have repairs made at a franchised Kia dealership. If no Kia dealership is available when a breakdown occurs, you could have minor repairs on your Kia performed by an independent repair facility and submit a claim to Kia Motor America.

Aftermarket Parts
Be careful when considering adding any aftermarket items to you car. Aftermarket performance enhancing accessories can be the reason for denial of coverage for major components, such as your engine and transmission. Even common accessories, such as an aftermarket sound system, alarm and remote starter, can cause problems with your vehicle. Any damage that they may cause will not be covered by Kia.
