Many Porsche models carry a basic warranty for 4 years or 50,000 miles. There is no extended powertrain warranty for your Porsche. In order to make your basic warranty last 3 years, you must drive less than 12,000 miles per year. Most vehicle owners max out on miles before they reach their warranty time limit. Once the basic warranty has ended, you are liable for all repairs, regardless of cost.

Regular maintenance, also called "preventative maintenance," helps prevent costly and dangerous breakdowns and repairs. Porsche agrees to warrant the vehicle against defects for a specified time or mileage, if the new-car buyer has the scheduled maintenance performed. Your owner's manual is a wealth of knowledge regarding preventative maintenance. It is best to keep a record of your maintenance.
It is important to take your vehicle in to the dealership if you notice any sign of problems. As usual, first consult your owner's manual to rule out easily troubleshooted items. Porsche strongly suggests that you bring your Porsche to a licensed dealership for any needed repairs. The Porsche dealership is skilled in fixing parts specific to your vehicle. If in an emergency, it is possible to be reimbursed for repairs done at a place other than the dealership. However, this is not recommended. Be sure to keep all pertinent paperwork for warranty claims.
As with repairs, it is required that accessories be installed by a certified Porsche service technician. Aftermarket parts are not covered by your warranty. If you have questions regarding the installation of radios, alarms, or other accessories, read your warranty information or contact Porsche directly.
